Nothing says the holidays more than this recipe for Grandma’s Party Mix! This is recipe is the classic version and WAY better than the one on the box of Rice Chex. One bite always takes me instantly to family Christmases and sitting around my Grandma’s table playing games and laughing for hours.
All in all, this party mix recipe is really easy – if you have a big enough bowl! My mom always makes this in a big roster and I’m pretty sure Grandma did as well. I didn’t have a roster so I tried making it in two separate stock pots. That kinda worked – but not as well. This most important thing though, is STIRRING! No matter what size pot(s) you cook the mix in, you need to really give it a good stir. Get the spoon to the very bottom and scoop up. You’ll wanna be gentle so you don’t crush all the cereal, but as it cooks, the season drips down so you really gotta mix it up to get a good, even flavor.
